Both models have a noticeable peak @ 4 kHz, and the E906 has a three position attenuator to work with that peak. The e906 is also hyper cardiod while the 609 is cardioid. So you'll get less stage bleed from the 906, but also less proximity effect, which might not be to your liking. I'd compare the e609 to an SM57 sound in a better format, and the 906 a step up from there. I'll be getting an e906 for sure.
